Another Charlie incarnation is… feeling the sting of working under my ever-moving hand. I lost an entire CPU!!! So things are slow. Things were blue-screened and black-screened for a while. I don’t want another *** computer. I don’t want to upgrade. I wonder if I can replace the dead part. I have no idea which CPU it was.

In the meantime, Akashik’s script for the current issue is on my table. And I’ve been poking at the new render system around that… I finally consented to upgrading DAZ the other day and instantly regretted it. I even tried making something in their toon rendering system. The toon rendering system would have potential if only big scenes wouldn’t come out so… fucking… ugly… and the toon rendering system doesn’t do depth of field. PWtoon did depth of field. The toon rendering system doesn’t have the ability to tell a lamp to light up. PWtoon would let me do that… etc. etc. etc… I swear the people out there that carried on about how wonderful Filatoon was were paid to do so. They couldn’t pay me to do that. Maybe.

So I continue to futz with iRay as I render and write, render and write and work on things. The attached image for Heavenly Bride is another iRay image, done after 2 days of trying to get the same scene to convert to Filatoon and look decent. Thing is this is supposed to be a night scene, but if i did all the night shadows you lose soooo much.

Did y’all know I’ve been working on an academic project for something like the past year? Long story short, I was going to write a short paper and it snowballed as I began to find things other people don’t talk about. It was going to just be a longer paper. 30,000 words ago it stopped being a paper, and I’ve started to hunt for a publisher because publishing this myself will actually hurt the work. McFarlen said no. Cry!

The flow was while things rendered I’d switch to the Loki book. The computer isn’t handling that so well right now. I can share more about if you like, but you’ll find me at academia.edu. I’m using a new penname for academic stuff because there are a host of academics out there with my given name, and last I checked I didn’t write about psychiatric health, social problems in the ghetto, or DNA splicing. Well, I mean outside of the Akashik universe. So for now I’m Woưbora.
