Well, my mother never went anywhere with Dad… so she quickly followed my father to the great beyond. (Happy Hunting Grounds, whatever)
So let’s recap. I was at Viking Fest actually seeing profits and the chance at making a living come true after such a long time. Then my Dad dies… and WHILE he dies a big storm destroyed our tents and some of our stock. It’s almost as if Dad didn’t appreciate that I put off seeing him until that Monday, when it was too late. Or something.
So I come to Florida, see the mess that has happened while I was away, and uproot my life to stay and care for my mother.
The day they were cremating my father, the heartbreak was too much for my mother and she had the big one as far as heart attacks go. From there it was a series of days in the care hospital, sitting by her side, playing the ukulele for her, and making sure the nurses kept her comfortable. I had help, though, who sat much more than I did.
There are other things here. My older brother being, well, what he is to the point that I nearly rerooted my life back up north (which would kill plans for the inheritance… they need me, even if they want to treat me like a mushroom. Oh, yes. They need my cooperation or it all goes to hell.). And me, unable to work the way I would like, needing to fix this computer, somehow record my new songs, finish new songs, fix my work vehicle, and somehow raise enough money to buy this camper to partially replace some of the things that were destroyed in the storm. (And it would be an upgrade, too.)
Typical week in the life of, really.
Dammmit Akashik is about to catch up with me on updates and things are so fubarred right now. I am disliking this. Note to self in future: get TWO years ahead. Not just one.
