Now for those here that don’t know, I like to participate with FAWM – February Album Writing Month. You’re supposed to try to make 14 songs about, but I knew I wouldn’t make it because I had too much else going on. Still, I made a lot this year so I’m pleased. And an album I’ve been poking towards for over a year now is very close to completion.
FAWM does slow me down as far as work goes, though. Finally last week I decided what I needed to do was simply record everything not out there and put them up. So i did, including this song here… which when I’d first sung it to a filk circle I finished up to a row of polite stares and someone (who admittedly doesn’t care for me) saying, “That’s very pretty,” in… this… tone….
So I stopped singing it in public.
Imagine my surprise when I took the plunge on recording it (with a sore throat, I admit) and putting it up. And then for hours I couldn’t stop myself on refreshing the stats because the plays just kept coming. Not a lot of hearts, but there were plays. Of my entire lineup, I’d say this particulate not-well-received song is the most popular. My stats even show me that it’s being played in China.
My mind is blown, needless to say.
New page for Akashik *is* coming…. this next page takes hand-drawn panels and I kid you not when I say it took hours to sketch one panel… This computer is just too slow to work on my real “jobs”. I only have 4 RAM you know.
